Application Procedure
The application process has two main components, both of which can be completed online:
- An application to the University of Iowa Graduate College click here
- An application to the Psychology Department click here
You Must complete both components to be reviewed for admission.
In addition, we require that you submit two official transcripts (one to the Office of Admissions and one to the department),
three letters of recommendation, and official GRE scores (the psychology subject test is not required).
- One copy of the transcript is submitted to the Office of Admissions, and one copy is submitted to the Psychology Department.
- The letters of recommendation are submitted by the letter-writers to the Psychology Department click here to view the form (pdf link)
-
The GRE scores should be sent to the University of Iowa Admissions office (institution code 6681). If you know your scores, you may enter them while filling out the departmental application, but the University must receive official scores before evaluating your application.
