To better serve students with different advising needs we offer two types of advising sessions
Regular Advising sessions are intended for students who have an average number of questions about the major, elective classes, general ed classes etc…
Extensive Advising Sessions are intended for students who have a LOT of questions about the degree programs (BA vs. BS), requirements, transfer credits etc….
Students who have never been advised by the Psychology department before MUST attend Extensive Advising sessions. This includes students who declared the Psychology major after November 2007, students who were advised in the Academic Advising Center last semester, transfer students and returning students. Extensive Advising sessions are smaller than regular advising sessions and provide the opportunity for students to get more individual attention.
Before your advising session, please printout your current Degree Evaluation on ISIS. You should arrive for advising with a planned course schedule that includes courses you need to satisfy the General Education Program, requirements for the Psychology major, and for any minors you are pursuing. You should also identify alternatives for courses that may be closed by your registration time. The Academic Coordinator and undergraduate Peer Advisors will be present to address any advising questions you have.
