The Spatial Perception, Action, and Memory (SPAM) laboratory in the Department of Psychology at the University of Iowa is headed by Dr. John P. Spencer. We study the development of visuo-spatial working memory, attention, and action, as well as the development of early word learning and categorization. Our lab specializes in both behavioral research and process modeling using dynamic neural field models of embodied cognitive systems.
