You are eligible if:

1. You are a biological mother of a baby who is now younger than 3 ½ years. This study will continue for several years, so if you are expecting a baby, you may be eligible to participate when your child becomes a toddler. Please contact us to find out.
   Note: At the point when you contact us, we may be looking for babies of a specific age within that age range, depending on the stage of the project
   
   
2. The pregnancy, birth, and the baby's development have been normal
   
   
3. You have low income. Examples of “low income” are as follows:
   
   Your family qualifies for any financial aid program for low-income families (examples include federal, state, county, private, faith-based programs, Head Start, Early Head Start, reduced-price or free lunch)
   
   You qualified for "Earned Income Tax Credit" (EITC) in your recent tax return
   
   Your family earns up to approxximately $15,000 per person in the household.

4. You plan to remain in the local area for the next 9-10 months.
   
   
5. Although English does not have to be the family's first language, you need to be willing to speak English with your child during the sessions in this study.
