Program Planning Information

Course Sequence for the B.S. Program. The first year of academic work for the typical student in this program is devoted largely to meeting General Education Requirements, including the required course work in the natural sciences and calculus. Freshmen may be able to start work in psychology, usually with 31:001 Elementary Psychology. The required statistics course and 31:120 Experimental Psychology I should closely follow this course. Under 100-level psychology courses may be taken any time after the elementary course has been completed, but upper-level psychology courses have a prerequisite of the Experimental Psychology I as well as specified lower level psychology course work. Students entering the B.S. program can complete their additional course in advanced mathematics, statistics, or computer science any time, subject to course prerequisites. Students must earn a C- or better in all prerequisite courses (except Elementary Psychology and Statistics) prior to enrolling in more advanced courses.
