Labs

Research at the Spatially Organized Thinking Lab is conducted primarily in the Department of Psychology at E6 Seashore Hall. We study children between the ages of 2 and 12 years, as well as adults (undergraduates and parents). Our studies involve tasks such as remembering object locations on a computer screen and describing object locations to someone else.

Research at the Hank Virtual Environments Lab is conducted primarily in the Computer Science Department at 311 MacLean Hall. We study children between the ages of 10 and 15, as well as adults (undergraduate students). Our studies involve tasks such as making decisions about crossing intersections and judging distances in virtual environments.

Although the labs have two separate locations, they overlap significantly in terms of the researchers involved with the projects. Please explore the links to learn more about the projects in both labs. We welcome inquires from parents interested in having their children participate in our studies and from students interested in joining our research team.
