Definition--unpleasant experience deriving from absence or loss of close others (network).
Distinguished from depression, grief--though may lead to these states, or be result.

- unconscious actions
- attraction to familiar objects
- Special categories of lonely
- students
- divorce-death/after cr break-up
- young women at home w/child
- prisoners
- retired
- elderly, esp. in 80s & above
